Internally worn, no string attached.

The entirety of the cup sits inside the vaginal canal including the removal ring. The rim of the cup forms a secure seal below your cervix. The removal ring sits about one knuckle deep from your vaginal opening.

Velvet soft, body safe.

Cocmau is made of premium soft medical-grade silicone that's hypoallergenic and free from natural latex, BPAs and phthalates. It moves with your body and won't dry you out, so you won't feel a thing all day long.

How to use Cocmau

It can take a few cycles to find your rhythm. Experiment with folds, positions and wear time. Relaxing will always make it easier.

Boil and clean

Sanitize your Cocmau Menstrual Cup in boiling water for 3-5 minutes, before first use and between cycles.

Give it a refresh with mild soap - like Cocmau Gentle Cleanser - before insertion.

Cocmau Insertion

Step 1: Find your fold

Choose your favorite fold. We recommend the punch-down fold. Simply push one side of the cup's rim down towards the base. Pinch to hold.

Step 2: Get in position

You can insert it either sitting on the toilet, squatting, or standing with one leg up. Take a deep breath to relax your pelvic floor.

Step 3: Insert the cup

Insert the cup in the vaginal canal and push it back towards your tailbone, until the ring stem is completely inside your body.

Step 4: Check placement

Grab the base of the cup and twist it to ensure it has popped open completely. You should not feel any dent on the body of the cup. You'll know it's in the right position if you can move around freely without leaks or discomfort.

Wear up to 12 hours

Step 5: Explore your newfound freedom

Enjoy up to 12 hours of period protection in which you can run free, go for a swim, sleep without worry, and even enjoy some intimacy. Periods are never a limit again.

Step 6: Remove your cup

Using the ring stem as a guide, wiggle your cup down to a low position. Pinch the base to release the suction seal that the rim forms with the vaginal canal. Remove your cup at an angle.

Step 7: Rinse and repeat

Tip the contents of the cup into the toilet. Wash your cup with mild soap or Cocmau Gentle Cleanser before inserting again, whenever possible.

If you're out and about, give your cup a rinse with water before inserting. Wash it with mild soap at home at least once every 12 hours.

Got questions? We have answers.

How do I fold my cup for insertion?

For most users, the punch-down fold will suffice. If you want to explore other options, check out our Full Guide to Menstrual Cup Folding.

How do I know when to remove Cocmau Menstrual Cup?

3 most common signs that your menstrual cup is almost full:

Sign #1. You feel a bubble sensation leaking out.

Sign #2. You feel "heavy" in the lower abdomen.

Sign #3. When wiping you see red marks on the toilet paper.

You can also simply time your flow to remove the cup before it's full.

For your first cycle, remove your cup after 4 hours and notice how full it is. Based on this observation you can estimate when to remove your cup. You'll get to be a pro at predicting your flow after only a few cycles.

Do I need other period products?

For most people, Cocmau Menstrual Cup replaces the need for other period products. You may want to begin a few first cycles with Smooth Cup while wearing panty liners as a back up, until you have got it going without leaks or discomfort. It usually takes between 1-3 cycles.

Can I use the bathroom while wearing Cocmau Menstrual Cup?

Yes! Cocmau sits in the vaginal canal, which is totally out of the way for you to go.

Can I have sex while wearing Cocmau Menstrual Cup?

It's a no for penetrative sex, because Cocmau sits inside the vaginal canal. But nothing else is off the table - and sex is not just about penetration!
